3 Not So Obvious Things Your Therapist Wants You to Know:
1) It's OK to feel awkward.
As in any new relationship, feeling comfortable can take time. It may feel strange sitting across from a new person and starting to open up. Take as much time as you need — your therapy, your pace.
2) You don't have to share it all.
Therapy is a place to share feelings, tell your story and work through difficulties. At the same time, it's completely up to you to share what you'd like. We all have different comfort levels when it comes to self-disclosure and privacy and we respect your process.
3) You are brave.
Asking for help and making yourself vulnerable are acts of bravery. It takes courage to look within and embark on your path to healing and further self-discovery. Take a deep breath and give yourself a much needed hug. You’re doing great!
