Parenting Group for Teens

Parenting a Teen is not easy. Dealing with the hormonal changes, the social pressures and the strive for independence, nobody taught you how to relate to your teen.
You may often experience clashes, questions about what is normal and what is not and how to improve your relationship with your teen.
In this group, we will meet weekly for 6 weeks of 1.5 hour each, to gain knowledge about:
-
the development of adolescence,
-
understanding what your parenting style is in regards to your teen and understanding how that impacts your relationship,
-
figure out how to talk and understand your teen
-
learn to set boundaries and understand the importance of boundaries and consequences for your teen’s development
-
Be able to share in a supportive, non-judgmental environment and gain insight and new direction.

Our 12-week social skills group meets once a week and provides a supportive space for children to practice confidence, communication, and self-regulation. Through role play, art, and play-based activities, children learn and grow in a fun, engaging way while developing real friendships.
Each group is kept small to ensure personal attention and to help every child find their voice and place in the group.
An initial parent meeting is required to identify your child’s personal goals and ensure the group is a good fit.
The group is facilitated by Cynthia Levitas, a Child & Parenting Psychotherapist and licenced Famiily Therapist, Cynthia holds experience working with children with emotional regulation issues, anxieties and can help them work through emotional challenges such as anxiety, anger management, and self-esteem issues that can impact friendships.
